Transcript

This Indenture made this thirteenth day of July in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one between William Fly of the one part and James Reaves of the other part both of the County of Maury and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I the s William Fly have givened granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto the s James Reaves his heirs and assigns forever one piece or parcel of land situate in said county north side of duck river and on the waters of Sword creek and bounded and bounded as follows beginning at a South ... in the name of Andrew Mitchell for forty acres forty poles east of the South West corner of said tract on a horn beam and lynn thence running east ninety poles to a hackbery and sugartree in the side of the ridge thence South seventy one poles to a large lynn north east corner Andrew Mitchels fifty acre survey thence east with his line ninety poles to a track thence north seventy poles to beginning containing thirty nine acres and sixty one poles to the same more or less together with the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the s James Reaves his heirs and assigns forever and the s William Fly his heirs and assigns &c do warrant and forever defend the said land and primeses unto the said James Reaves his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or person whatever in testimony whereof the said Will Fly have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.

On the back of the above deed was written

Maury County Court        }April term 1825 then the within deed of conveyance was produced in open court and the execution thereof duly acknowledged by Will Fly and ordered to be certified for registration.
