Transcript

This Indenture made this 4th day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight Between David Reeves Sr of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee of the one part and Martha Manning of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to her in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath this day granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth Grant bargain sell and convey unto the said David Reves Sr his heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Bedford and State aforesaid on the waters of Sinking Creek and Bounded as follows, (viz)
Beginning on an ash in the school land line, thence East with said line one hundred and two poles to an elm thence North eighty poles to a Lynn, thence west one hundred poles to a dogwood, thence South to the beginning, Containing fifty acres to have and to hold the aforesaid Tract of land with all and singular the right title privileges and appertainences thereunto belonging to the only proper use and behoof of him the sd David Revis Sr his heirs or assigns forever, and the said Martha Manning for herself and her heirs do and will warrant and forever defend the right and Title of said Land unto the said David Rivis Sr his heirs or assigns free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Martha Manning hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and date first above written

Bedford County } Personally appeared before me William D Orr clerk of Bedford County Court Washington D Medearis a subscribing witness to the within Deed who being first sworn depose and say, that he is personally acquainted with Martha Manning the within named bargainer, that she acknowledged the same in his presence to be her act and deed upon the day that it bears date, that Solomon Ellis one of the other subscribing witnesses has moved to parts unknown, and Wm Cawlfield the other subscribing witness now lives beyond the limits of this State. Witness m hand at office this 9th day of August 1836.
