Transcript

The last will and Testament of Silas Reeve of the Town of Brookhaven, County of Suffolk, and parish of Moriches, being sick, and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following - (that is to say) -
Firstly, that all my just debts as shall be by me owing at my death, together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of, or otherwise concerning this my will, shall in the first place out of my personal estate and affects be fully paid and satisfied - and from and after payment thereoff and subject thereunto then my will is I give to my beloved wife all the furniture or moveables she brought with her when she come to live with me; and one hundred dollars to be paid in one year after my decease - provided she releases her right of dower, on all my real estate;
also I give to my son Franklin Reeve all my share of meadow on the beach or Jerman flats so called :-
also I give to my three daughters, namely Jemime Benjamin, Sarah Haff and Abigail Brown, seventy five Dollars each to be paid in one year after my decease.
Also I give to my daughter Elizabeth Reeve one hundred Dollars to be paid in one year after my decease.
Lastly I give to my two sons Joel and Franklin Reeve, all the real and personal estate accept what I have already given away before to be devided equally between them; and I make and order Samuel Terry, and Joel Reeve executors of this my last will and testament - hereby revoking all former wills by me made
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this Twef day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine
