Transcript

This Indenture made this eighth of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty, by and between Absalom Reeves of Bedford and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Nathan Wheeler of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Absalom Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Nathan Wheeler, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Given, Granted, Bargained, Sold, Conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give Grant, Convey and confirm unto the said Nathan Wheeler, his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or tract of land situated lying and being in the County of Bedford, on the North fork of Duck River, Beginning at an ash elm and Sycamore on the South bank of the North fork running thence East forty poles to two red buds and elm in the West boundary line of 350 Acre Tract Granted to William Lytle thence South with said line eighty two poles six links to an ash, thence South eighty four 1/2 degrees West eighty one and a fourth poles, to an Ironwood Black Oak and Cedar, thence North eighty one 1/4 poles to an ash Ironwood and two cedars on the bank of the north fork thence up the meanders of the same to the beginning, Containing forty acres it being the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land and bargained premises with all and singular the rights profits emoluments and hereditmanets of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Nathan Wheeler his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Absalom Reeves for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant and agree to and with the said Nathan Wheeler his heirs and assigns that he will warrant and forever defend the before described land against the right title Interest or claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Absalom Reeves hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written - Signed Sealed and Acknowledged in presence of use
