State of Tennessee  }
Bedford County       } Whereas William Reaves deceased late of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee owned a tract of land situated in said County between Falling Creek and the North fork of Duck Rover it being part of a 4000 acre tract Granted o Richd Trotter Beginning at a stake the North east corner of Eppes Taylors 124 3/4 acre tract in west boundary line of the original survey running east 162 poles to a stake thence north 110 poles to a stake thence west 162 poles to a stake, thence South 110 poles to the beginning as per deed from William Leech to the said Reeves there being a small part sold off said Tract leaving one hundred and six acres and 24 poles belonging to the heirs and Legatees of the said William Reeves decd. there being seven in number and whereas Waitman Gullett of the County of Pope, and State of Illinois one of the said Legatees hath an Undivided moiety of said land do hereby constitute and appoint authorize and empower Absalom Reeves of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee his executor or Administrator my true and lawfull Attorney in fact, for me and in my name and on my behalf to bargain sell convey and confirm by warrant and all my part of the above described land, and in my name to perform and do any thing or thing act or acts necessary to make the same valid and effectual, and these presents shall be to him the said Absalom Reaves his Executors or Administrators a sufficient warrant and power for so doing In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 27th of July AD 1835

State of Illinois  } This the 29th of July 1835
Pope County       } Personally appeared before us two the subscribers of the Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid the above named Waitman Gullett & Elizabeth his wife, acknowledged the above written Indenture to be their and each of their acts and deeds and desired the same as such might be recorded according to law, she the said Elizabeth being of lawfull age, separate and apart from her said husband by us two examined and the full contents of the Indenture unto her made known, where upon she did declare that she did voluntarily and of her free will & record seal, and is her act and deed delivered the same without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband whatever. Witness our hands and seals this 29th of July 1835

Pope County       } I John Baum clerk of the County commissioners Court for Sd County do hereby certify that Thos Cowsert & John Baldwin whose name appears to the within certificate were on the day the same was made acting Justices of the peace in & for Sd County of Pope regularly commissioned & qualified & that as such full faith & Credits are and of right ought to be given to all their official acts. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the County commissioners Court of Sd County in my office in Goleonda this 5th day of September AD 1835
