To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. I Spious Reeves of the County aforesaid for and in consideration of the natural love good will and affection which I have and do bear towards my beloved grandson Rolin Reeves a son of Simeon Reeves and Susan his wife, I do hereby give unto said child a certain infant negro girl by the name of Rhody, To Have and to hold together with her increase forever at and from my death, nevertheless if the said Rolin Reeves should depart this life not leaving living issue then the above named negro girl and her increase is given to Drewry Reeves son of Simeon Reeves, and if said Drewry Reeves should depart this life not leaving issue then the above negro girl and her increase is given to my son Simeon Reeves and his assigns forever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 26th of April 1844
