Children of Spious Reeves:Spious named his "grandson Rolin Reeves a son of Simeon Reeves and Susan his wife" and "Drewry Reeves son of Simeon Reeves" in an 1844 deed.
Research Notes
According to son Simeon's 1880 census record, his father (Spious) was born in North Carolina. This needs verification but could be a clue to his origin.In addition to Spious, there was a Joseph Reeves also associated with Burke County as he was granted some land there in 1792. In addition, a Joel Reeves "of Burke County" some land situated in Baldwin County in 1809.
The Augusta Chronicle lists a George Reeves and Benjamin Reeves as defaulters for 1790 in Burke County. In 1796, John Reeves and Joel Reeves are listed.
