Know all Men by these presents that we Eli Reeves and Amelia Reeves his wife of Mahaska County Iowa for and in Consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to us in hand paid by Logan Allford of the County of Hancock Indiana have bargained and sold and do by these presents grant bargain sell and, Convey unto the said Logan Allford his hiers and assigns forever all the following described piece or parcel of land towit the North East quarter of the North East quarter of section thirteen (13) in Township sixteen (16) North of Range six (6) with the exception of ten (10) acres deeded to J. L. Avery and two small pieces deeded to Trustees for a grave yard and meeting house not to exceed Eighty-two rods, Containing twenty nine acres more or less, with a reserve of the foregoing described premises or lot of land during the life time of James Reeves and also the life time of Elizabeth Reeves wife of the said James Reeves, to have and to hold the rents and profits arising therefrom during the lifetime of the said James Reeves and Elizabeth Reeves his wife, Also saving & reserving to the public a right of way to & from said Grave yard & Meeting houses Then the said Logan Allford, after the death of the said James and Elizabeth Reeves to have and to hold the Said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Logan Allford his heirs and assigns forever And the said Eli Reeves & Amelia his wife do hereby covenant with the said Allford, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized in fee of the premises aforesaid, that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever and that they will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said Logan Allford his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever, with the foregoing reservations & provisions, In Witness whereof the said Eli Reeves and Amelia Reeves his wife who hereby relinquishes her right of Dower in said premises have hereunto set their hands and seals this first day of October A.D. 1850.Witnesses John B. State of Iowa Mahaska County s.s. I John B. Montgomery one of the Justices of the Peace of said County do hereby Certify that the above named Eli Reeves and Amelia his wife Came personally before me and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be their voluntary act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned, And Amelia Reeves above named the wife of the said Eli Reeves who being by me examined privately separate and apart from and without the hearing of her said husband and the full contents and purport of the said deed being by me made Known to her she acknowledged that she executed the same of her own free will and accord and without any Coercion or Compulsion from her said husband. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Oskaloosa this first day of October A.D. 1850.

State of Iowa Mahaska County SS I Macajah T. Williams Clerk of the District Court of said County do hereby Certify that the above named John B. Montgomery Esq before whom the foregoing Deed appears to have been acknowledged was at the date thereof an acting Justice of the Peace within and for said County duly elected and qualified as such, as appears of record in my office, and as such officer his acts are entitled to full faith and Credit.
