Wife Amelia is listed as Aralia on the 1850 census in Mahaska County, Iowa. Eli was listed age 40, born in North Carolina.

In 1860, Eli was listed as a farmer, age 50, while his wife is listed as Emily. She was born in Virginia. By 1870, all the children except Annie, age 15, had moved out.

In the 1895 Iowa State Census, Eli is listed as 85 years old with Amelia 79. It incorrectly lists Eli as born in Virginia and Amelia in Indiana.

The Oskaloosa Herald, 17 Aug 1899
REEVES. - Died of heart trouble, at the family home in Spring Creek township, at 12 o'clock M., Saturday, Aug. 12, 1899 ELI REEVES, aged 89 years. The funeral was held Sunday from the residence and interment was made in Forest cemetery.

Eli and Amelia were buried in the Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa. It gives his wife's name as Amelia Curry. Note that the obituary states that he died on the 12th while the headstone states the 11th.
