The place of residence of this family is West Wellow, Wiltshire, but this place falls within the Romsey Registration District and is therefore included within the county of Hampshire for census purposes. Confusingly adjacent East Wellow is in Hampshire, the county boundary falling between the two until 1895 when the boundary was re-drawn and West Wellow was transfered to Hampshire.
