Transcript

This is the last Will and Testament of me John William Reeve of the Bell Tan Newgate Market in the City of London Sirewed? Victualler and of Chingford in the County of Essex farmer
I give and bequeath unto James Sawkins nephew of my dear wife Martha Reeve the sum of five hundred pounds to and for his own use and benefit and to be paid to him by my executrix hereinafter named within twelve months next after my decease but my will is that in case I shall at any time hereafter during my life time make other provisions for the said James Sawkins either by advance of money to that amount or by establishing him in any trade or business then such the said bequest of five hundred pounds to him the said James Sawkins shall be absolutely null and void ad after payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses and the charges of proving and carrying into effect this my will and subject thereto I give and bequeath unto my said dear wife Martha Reeve all that my leasehold tem or public house situate at or near unto Newgate Market aforesaid called or known by the name of the Bell for and during all my estate and interest therein subject to the real and covenants under which I now hold the same also all my household furniture work in trade and effects therein or thereunto belonging also all my right and interest of and in my farm lands house and premises at Chingford aforesaid and also all my live and dead stock farming implements and all other my goods chattels and effects therein or thereon or thereunto belonging also all right benefit and advantage of in and to a certain policy of assurance on my own life effects by me in the Asghim? Life Assurance Company for the sum of five hundred pounds and all monies which may arise or become our...payable in respect thereof and which policy bears date the eleventh day f April one thousand eight hundred and thirty six and is numbered 388 and also all the rest residue and remainder of any goods chattels estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore specifically mentioned disposed of to hold the said ? ? lands house and premises ? goods chattels estate and effects and every part and parcel thereof unto my said wife Martha Reeve absolutely and for her own use and benefit and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Martha Reeve sole executrix of the will and hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me made. I so declare this and none other to be and containe my whole last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have set my hand at the end or foot hereof this twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.

Proved at London 18th December 1855 before the worshipful S? Thomas Pratt Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Martha Reeve widow the relict the sole executrix to whom admon was granted having been first sworn only to administer.
