THE LATE BILLIE REEVES

The funeral took place at Ixworth recently of Billie Reeves (79), the famous comedian, who had lived at Ixworth since 1939.

The son of Mr. John Reeve, Billie left the parish at an early age, starting a stage career at the age of 15, and travelling not only Europe but many parts of the world. Among his friends was Charlie Chaplin, whose present general manager is his brother, Mr Alfred Reeve.

The Rev. S. Horton Roberts officiated at the funeral service.

The mourners were the widow, Mrs. K. Thompson and Mrs. S. Walker (daughters). Mr. George Reeve (cousin); also present Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Reeve, Mrs. G. Thorpe, and Mrs A. Warren.

Floral tributes were "The pain is over, the trouble is past; sleep, my dear one, in peace at last: your devoted wife, Nellie"; and from Katie and Stella: Alf and Amy, Hollywood, Califonia; George; Mr. and Mrs. B Lovick. The funeral arrangements were carried out Mr. A. J. Thurlow, Ixworth
