Narrative

It appears that Elizabeth Baxter was a spinster, marrying John Reeves after the death of his first wife sometime after 1838 for her name is listed as Elizabeth Baxter when she witnessed the will of her sister, Cynthia Baxter Reeves, in December of 1838.

Her will written 1 Aug 1849 which is found included in miscellaneous wills of York SC, was not the will probated at her death in December of 1857. Instead, a subsequent will dated 28 Nov 1857 is included in her probate records in Case Nbr. 38, File #1628.

Both wills name her husband John and step children as legatees; however, the 1857 will does not mention Henry Reeves.
