The Current Story for Group 10
Group 10 includes four descendants of George Reeve who lived in Northumberland and Prince William Counties of Virginia in the 1700s. Six members of Group 10 descend from John Reeve, also of Prince William County in Virginia, who is referred to as the brother of George Reeve in an early Prince William County deed. All of the members who descend from John Reeve share a distinguishing value of 13 for the marker DYS439. Descendants of George Reeve and several other testers share a value of 12 on that marker.A number of the remaining testers in this group descend from Reuben Reeves, William Reeves, James B/Asa Reeves, or James Reeves Sr, all of whom lived in upper South Carolina in the early 1800s, and three of whom moved to Tennessee. These testers share the value of 12 on the DYS439 marker with known descendants of George Reeve from Prince William County, Virginia.
The line for John Robert Reeves goes back to Staffordshire, England in the early 1800s.
The line for William F. Reeve goes back to Bocking, Essex in England in the 1600s.
As of August 2017, TRP has 19 community members who indicated descent from an ancestor we recognize as belonging within DNA Group 10.
