Reeves Y-DNA Project Updates - March 2006 [2]

This update embraces two posts, both made on 23 March 2006

Happy Spring Everyone,

I am pleased to announce the latest match in the Reeves DNA Project and furthermore, the formation of our sixth matching group!
This newest match is between Thomas Dale Reeves and John Turner Reeves. These participants had a 36 out of 37 marker match. They share a most recent common ancestor (MRCA) in Jesse Reeves who is approximately 5 generations back in each of their Reeves lines, and they subsequently share a continued Reeves line back to immigrant ancestor Henry Reeves Sr. of Old Rapahannock VA.1

I congratulate our two latest matching participants, and as always urge other Henry Reeves, Sr descendants (as well as all other Reeves, Reaves, Rives, Reves, Ryves researches) to take the plunge and join the Reeves DNA Project.

Kindest Regards,

David LeRoux

All,

The latest updates have been applied to the Reeves DNA project website. As David said earlier, we have our sixth match group.
Kit 33172 for Thomas Dale Reeves - Group 6
Kit 33674 for John Turner Reeves - Group 6
Congratulations to Thomas Dale Reeves and John Turner Reeves on their match. The momentum is really going strong now. Let's keep the project active. I still need the family lines for several of the test participants. Please send them as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Barry Reeves

1         Subsequent research and the formation of DNA Group 9 showed this extended line of descent to be incorrect.
