Maldon, Essex

Location

The market town of Maldon is located in near to the centre of Essex at the mouth of the River Chelmer where it enters the Blackwater estuary.

The City of Chelmsford, the county town of Essex is approximately ten miles to the west. The market town of Witham is about six miles north, following the River Blackwater for the most part. South Woodham Ferrers, on the River Crouch, is eight miles to the south and Colchester is seventeen miles to the north east.

Parish Church

The town of Maldon is served by two Ancient Parishes, All Saints with St Peter, Maldon for the northern and western portions and St Mary, Maldon for the southern and eastern portions including Northey Island.
