Winchcombe, Gloucestershire

Location

Winchcombe is an ancient parish located in the north east of the county of Gloucestershire. The market town of the same name lies in the south of the parish. Historically it is sometimes referred to as Winchcomb and also as Winchcomb(e) with Gretton.

It is approximately eight miles north east of Cheltenham and Evesham in Worcestershire is about ten miles to the north. The historic county town of Gloucester is about fifteen miles to the south west.

Adjacent (Pre 1832) Parishes

To the east of Winchcombe lies Toddington, Didbrook and Guiting Power with Farmcote. To the south is Sudeley Manor and Charlton Abbots, with Bishop's Cleve and the extra-parochial place of Prescott both to the south-west. To the west is Stanley Pontlarge, a chapelry of Toddington and Alderton. To the north-west is Beckford and and finally Dumbleton is to the north.
