Narrative
The Richmond County, Georgia original marriage bonds record Harriet Eliza Hargrove's marriage to John Bedingfield on 27th of May 1807. By January 1811, Mrs. Harriet E. Bedingfield was recorded as the widow of John Bedingfield in Baldwin County, Georgia. Although Harriet was not named in John Bedingfield's will, she is recorded as his executor in probate and guardianship records. John Bedingfield's will refers to a son John and requests to be buried beside John in St. Paul's Courtyard. It is an odd request since John Bedingfield, Jr. was still living circa 1829 and named in probate documents of the estate of Harriet E. 23 Dec 1812 - Turner Reeves of Washington Co. married to Harriet Bedingfield of this place.
John T. Rives was the executor of the estate of John Bedingfield after his marriage to Harriet.
It appears that John T. Rives was deceased by 1820 for in that census, Harriet E. Reeves was listed as head of household that included only herself, age 26-44, and 2 male children under 10 years old. A William Hargrove was living in the residence next to Harriet and was likely a family member, possibly a brother.
The 1820 Richland District SC will of John T. Rives father, Timothy Rives, mentions a civil suit brought by Harriett and her son James against Timothy's estate. Harriett is named as the widow of Timothy's deceased son John Turner Rives.
Harriett E. Rives was deceased by August of 1828 when her estate was probated in the records of Baldwin County.

Research Notes
It is not possible for the widow Harriet E. Bedingfield to have been the wife of John T. Reeves, son of Jeremiah Reeves, as proposed by the Reeves Review II. John T. Reeves, 26-44 was recorded in Jasper County, Georgia in the 1820 census with a wife, 16-25 and 5 children under the age of 10 years old. Harriet E. Reeves, age 26-44, who appears to be a widow is recorded in that same 1820 census in Washington County with 2 male children under 10 years old. The will of Timothy Rives of Richland District SC also names Harriett as the widow of his son John Turner Rives. Additionally probate records of Baldwin County record the estate of Harriett E. RIVES deceased in August of 1828.Sources
