History

In 1784 Virginia opened the Green River district in Kentucky to her Revolutionary War veterans. Settlers quickly populated the land south of the Green River. McFadden's Station near the mouth of Drakes Creek was a frequent stopping place for travelers on the Cumberland Trace. Warren is bordered by Butler County on the northwest, Edmonson County to northeast, Barren County to the east, Allen County on the southeast, Simpson County to south/southwest and Logan County on the southwest.
