George is mentioned as a deceased brother of Archibald Reaves Jr. in an 1847 deed from Benjamin S. Reaves to William H. Wisener.

Chancery court records show that Alfred Campbell was the Administrator of George W. Reaves.

George is buried in the Reaves Cemetery in Bedford County, Tennessee. His headstone reads: "In memory of George Reaves who departed this life September 20th 1840, aged 18 years."
