Birth: c1790, Virginia
Birth Source: Halifax County tax lists

NarrativeVery little is known of George Reaves, Jr. other than several entries in the tax lists of Halifax County. But he appears to have served in the American forces during the War of 1812.
George Reaves served in Captain John B. Royall’s Troop of Cavalry, from the First Regiment Virginia Militia, Halifax County from 30 Aug to 21 Sep 1814 commanded by Lt. Col. P. Halcomb. (22 days)
George Reaves, Jr. is last recorded on the tax lists of 1815, which is also the last year that his father George Reaves, Sr. was listed. The following year in 1816, two females who appear to be widows were listed among the taxpayers of Halifax County. A Nancy Reeves was only listed in the year 1816 and presumably remarried shortly thereafter. The other widow, Martha Reeves, was surely Martha Epps Reeves, the widow of George, Sr..
