Narrative

When Solomon Reaves wrote his will in 1836, he stipulated that his second wife, Winney, was to have her choice of parts with her dower in his plantation and that his son, Samuel Reaves was to have the care of her through life.

In Brunswick County on 27 Mar 1858, Winney Reaves executed a POA to her step-son Joel Reaves to act on her behalf in executing her business.
