Research Notes
This family is discussed in Marie Reavis Hall's The Reavis Family in America since 1700. Hall indicates that Edward was a son of David Reavis (1748-1826) and Gemima Reed (1750-1841), who are believed to be buried in the Reavis Cemetery, Cooper Co., MO. David Reavis, in turn, is there identified as a son of James Reavis (c. 1719- c. 1804) and Elizabeth Street (c. 1723 - c. 1790). This lineage has not been verified. The Reavis Family in America since 1700 further identifies Elizabeth Doyle Reavis as a daughter of James Doyle and Elizabeth Reavis and a granddaughter of James Reavis and Elizabeth Street.Sources
