James Stuart, Devisee and Legatee of Dr. James Carson vs. Wm Carson, Executor of James Carson, Case CXIV, Dec. b., vol. ii., p. 52
"The bill filed by James Stewart charged, that the complainant's mother was possessed of considerable estates, and intermarried with Dr. James Carson, who thereby acquired the property which she possessed. That during the coverture he acquired in her right considerable property under the will of her deceased brother, Lewis Reeves."
