In 1901, the widow Emily was living in Broomfield, Chelmsford St. Mary, Essex, age 32. With her are Nellie (14), Louise (8), Alice M. (6) and Frederick A. (3).
In 1911, Emily and her son Frederick (13) were boarders in the household of John Smith in Chelmsford.
