Augustus Reeve Dies at Age of 79
Augustus H. Reeve, for 38 years manager of the Philadelphia office of the Travelers Insurance Co. and its advisory manager since 1942, died yesterday at his home, 2601 Parkway. He was 79.
Throughout his long career he was active in the various insurance organizations of this city, and served several terms as president of the Casualty Underwriters Association of Philadelphia. He was also a member for many years of the board of directors of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.
SURVIVED BY FOUR
Mr. Reeve became manager of the Travelers’ office here upon its establishment in 1904. He was a native of Alloway, N. J., and was graduated from William Penn Charter School and Haverford College. He was a member of the Sons of the Revolution and the Downtown Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaretta Willis Baldwin Reeve; a daughter. Miss Katharine Reeve, and two sons, Henry Reeve of Menard. Tex, and Commander Richard Reeve, now serving with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific.
