Edmund wrote his will on 10 Jan 1645/6 and it was probated 27 Apr 1647. In it, he describes himself as a potter of Latton, Essex. He mentions the following individuals:

  • unto William Reeve my sonne and William Reeve and John Reeve his sonnes equally

  • Recognizances: Ezechial Haggar [grocer of Latton], Andrew Fuller of North Welad Bassett yeoman and Emund Reeve of Latton, potter; Haggar to keep the peace to Christopher Taber of Harlow, collarmaker. Added: 10 October Release of security by Taber to Haggar. (Q/SR 259/71)

Research Notes

There are a number of references to Edmunds and Edwards in the Reeves entries from the Latton register. However there is no clear pattern matching the grandchildren mentioned in the will or which may be his son Edward. These two entries may refer to his son William's children:
  • John Reeve sonne of Willm Reeve and Elizabeth his wife Baptised the fyfte of March (1627/8)
  • Mary Reeve daughter of Wm Reeve and Mary his wife Baptised the Eleventh daye of January (1631/2)
