Edward married first Betsey Hallock. This is recorded in Mattituck Church records:
  • October 23 1827. Edward Reeve married to Betsey Hallock daughter of Ruport Hallock

She died in 1829, and her headstone states she was the daughter of Ruport Hallock.

In 1850, Edward was in Southold, age 49, with Mary Ann (38), George B. (16), Isaiah (11), Georgianna (7) and some other residents.
