According to Findagrave, his headstone reads: "Beneath this stone lies deposited the remains of Elijah Reeve Snr thro various changes of life as a faithful friend, A profitable and worthy citizen resigned to the divine will departed this life Novr. 7 A.D.1789/Aged 67 Years"

The will of Abraham Taylor of Wallkill appoints his brother-in-law Elijah Reeve as an execut0r. A Temperance Reeve, presumably this Elijah's daughter, witnessed the will. It was probated in 1793 and Elijah was granted administration on the estate. The Elijah mentioned seems to be Elijah Jr. Abraham's wife's name was Keturah. This means it's likely this Elijah's daughter married Abraham Taylor, then a Mr. Newkirk second as she is referred to as Keturah Newkirk in Elijah's will.

Elijah's will names the above children and also a granddaughter named Sarah Coleman. It would appear Elijah had a daughter Mrs. Coleman who had died by 1789.

Elijah and Elijah Jr. are listed in the 2nd Regiment of the Ulster County Militia during the Revolutionary War.
