From Calendar of Essex Assize File - Assizes held at Brentwood 12 March 1601:
Indictment of John Kinge alias Carter of Fyfield labourer there broke into the house of Gilbert Reve at night, he being therein and stole "a following peece" worth 3s. 4d., and 2s, in money. Plead not guilty; guilty hanged. [Ass 35/43/1/9]

Gilbert wrote his will on 1 Sep 1627 and it was proved 6 Mar 1627/8 in the Consistory Court of London. He mentions:
