Giles signed the Protestation returns in 1642 for Finchingfield, Essex. There was a Joseph and Thomas who signed as well at Finchingfield who were probably his brothers.

In his will, written 31 May 1649 and probated 9 Nov 1649, Giles mentions:

• my loving mother Dorothy Reeve
• Joseph Reeve my brother
• Thomas Reeve my brother

He also mentions the "parrish of Frinchingfield where I was borne."
