On the 1841 and 1851 England Census, Henry appears in his father George's household in Church Street, Belchamp St Paul. He is noted as being 13 and 23 years old respectively, born in Stoke by Clare. On the 1851 there is no notation for Henry's occupation.
On the 1861 Census Henry is living onHigh Street, Stoke. He is 39 years old and claims birth in Stoke, Suffolk. He is working as a Straw Dealer.
Living with him are his wife Ann (Age 32) and Henry (Age 9) who is described as his son who is a scholar.
In the England Census of 1871, Henry is recorded as being 42 years old, occupation Straw Dealer, living with his mother Sarah, at 51 Church Street, Stoke by Clare. Ann is also recorded working as a Straw Platter.
In the England Census of 1881, Henry is recorded as being 53 years old, living with his wife Ann at 32 Chapel Street, Stoke by Clare. Henry was listed as a Dealer in Fish and his wife a Straw Platter.
In the England Census of 1891 Henry is recorded as 63 years old, still living on Chapel Street with his wife Ann both working as Farm Servants.
Henry died this same year.
Henry's wife Ann Reeve appears as a widow on the 1901 census. FreeBMD has a death registration during the third quarter of 1891 in the Risbridge Reg.Dist. for a Henry Reeve, age 64 so born c1827/8, which would correspond to this individual.
Research Notes
(1) On the 1861 census the household includes a son Henry Reeve, age 9, born Stoke, Suffolk, placing his birth c1852. FreeBMD shows no birth registation in the Risbridge Reg.Dist. between 1850 & 1855 for a Henry Reeve which might correspond to this individual.Additionally note, the GRO Index to Births has no entries (neither male nor female) between 1848 and 1862 where the child's surname is REEVE and the mother's maiden name is FROST in this part of the country.
