Narrative

Israel was baptized with his sister at Cutchogue Church in Suffolk County:
  • July 10, 1757 Mehitabel & Israel children of Israel & Theodosia Reeve

It would seem that Israel did not migrate with his father to Connecticut.

Israel was of Auburn, Cayuga County, New York in 1820 when he deeded some land to John Hall.

There's a Betsey Reeve who died 12 Mar 1819 buried at North Street Cemetery in Auburn. One handwritten burial book lists her death as Mar. 12, 1819. The transcription done by the DAR incorrectly states her death:
  • REEVE, BETSEY W OF ISRAEL D. MAR. 12, 1848/18 AE 59 YRS.

New-York Spectator, 2 Apr 1819
At Auburn, the wife Israel Reeve, Esq 59

In 1831, Israel and his wife Abia of Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts sold some land to Isaac Robbins.

On 10 Dec 1835, living in Massachusetts, testified in Hampshire County, Massachusetts that he is the same that served from New York State during the war and asked his pension to be sent to where he was now living in Massachusetts. A certification dated 21 Dec 1787 from New York City states that "We have examined Israel Reeve of Southold in the County of Suffolk Mariner and find that during the late war he was a Soldier in Capt Jonathan Titus's Company in the fourth New York Regimt...discharged...year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine...that on the fifth day of June last he was thirty years of Age."

Abiah died 4 Mar 1843, age 83, and was buried in South Amherst Cemetery/

Research Notes

The following death from the Salmon Records is probably a child of this Israel.
