In the will of Jabez Reeve, merchant of Bristol, he mentions several cousins who lived in Chepstow, but no Reeves. Given the name of Jabez was not very common, this fits well with the baptism from Chepstow in 1695. Jabez is also mentioned in the estate inventory of James Reeve of Bristol which was recorded in Suffolk County in New York where James's widow Jane was. The inventory, dated 1714 mentions money "for the passage of Jane Reeve and Jabez & Frances Reeve", "cash paid for Jane Reeve in the time of her sickness & funerall charges, & also for Jabez & Frances Reeve in their sickness & to the Doctor &c." The marriage record for James and Jane would indicate that's James's parents and closest relatives included a Charles, Frances and Rachel Reeve. These match with the names of his parents Charles and Frances, and sister Rachel.
