John wrote his will on 6 Dec 1656 and it was probated 22 Dec 1656. He was of Frinchingfield and describes it as "Finchingfield in the Countie of Essex where I was born." As far as relatives, he mentions only "John Cracheroon? of Wood Ditton in the Countie of Cambridg gent which married my late deceased mothers sister."

There don't seem to have been many Reeve folks in Finchingfield, which makes it likely he was the son John of Richard Reeve.

There was a dispute concerning the inheritances from his estate. The case is entitled Mascall v. Chisell, 1656. This could yield further details on his life.
