There is a guardianship record dated 4 Jun 1734 in which James Reeve of Bocking was appointed guardian to John Reeve "a minor the naturall & lawfull son & only child of Elizabeth Reeve late of Bocking in the County of Essex Widow." It further includes a statement by John indicating that Elizabeth had died "abt two months since"

In a Probate Court case from Dec 1807 before the Archbishop of Canterbury, reference is made to an indenture dated 20 Oct 1746 between John English of Bocking and John Reeve of Stisted "in the same County yeoman (son and Heir of John Reeve late of Boones in the said County of Essex by Elizabeth his wife both deceased) of the first part Richard Reeve of Bocking aforesaid Gentleman of the second part." This indicates John was still living in Sisted in 1746.
