The parish register locates him in Bures, St. Mary in Suffolk, which borders the north of Essex. In 1734, the will of Jordan Harris of Horkesley, Essex mentions a "wood called Brockleford Wood in Ardleigh to grandson Jordan Reeve, son of daughter Dame Anne Reeve, widow." Ardleigh is just south of Dedham Parish where the baptisms of Jordan's children are found. His eldest children were named Abraham and Ann which supports him being the son of this Abraham. Stratford St. Mary in Suffolk, where he married Mary Smith, is immediately to the north of Dedham.
