Narrative

Joseph/Edward (he swaps between using these as forenames, but as my grandfather knew him as Grandpa Joe, Joseph has always been the name we use) was born c. 1862 in Norwich, Norfolk. His mother was Emily Cracknell, and it is assumed that his father was Henry Reeve - but as the birth certificate for Joseph has not yet been found, and Henry and Emily didn't marry until 1868, this is still up for debate. The first evidence we have for Joseph is the 1871 census where he is an 8 year old, living with Henry, Emily and a half brother George in Stoke Holy Cross. He was still in Stoke Holy Cross at time of the 1881 census.

On 13th May 1883, Joseph married Sophia Bone at Holy Trinity Church, Heigham, Norfolk. Joseph gave his profession as carpenter.

On both the 1891 and 1901 census, Joseph and Sophia were living in Heigham, Norfolk with their only child, Edward (b. 28th March 1884).

By the time of the 1911 census, Joseph and Sophia had moved to Turret House, Blofield, Norfolk. Joseph was the licensee of the Swan Inn, Blofield from 10th Jan 1921 to 15th July 1929.

Joseph died in 1937, in Blofield, Norfolk
