Joseph Walter Reeve is named as a son in the will of his father Abraham Reeve.

Although this has yet to be found in the original record, there is a record for Joseph Walter Reeve, son of Abraham & Elizabeth, born 8 Aug 1842, baptized 28 Nov 1824 at Lion Walk Meeting House-Independent, Colchester, Essex.

He and his sister Elizabeth are found living in Waltham Holy Cross, Essex in 1851. According to the census, he was born at Springfield.

Again in 1861, he is found with his sister Elizabeth Ann Warrens, now wife of William Warrens, in Hackney, Middlesex.
