DIED] - On Saturday evening last, in the 86th year of his age, PETER REEVE, the oldest Sea Captain belonging to the Port of Philadelphia. He was a native of Whitby in Great Britain, and came to this city on the year 1720, from which he failed many years. In his more advanced age he retired from this active scene of life, and devoted his time to the service of several useful and public institutions, in which he acquitted himself to the great satisfaction of his fellow citizens who preferred him to these appointments. His attachment to good order in government was obvious to all his acquaintance, and his zeal to support it was manifested, by his constant attendance at our annual elections, at which he is known to have voted fifty-five times.
His burial is recorded in the Southern District of Philadelphia Meeting records as on 19 of 10 Mo. 1800, Peter Reeve, age 85.
On the 1790 census, there are two adult men and two women in the household.
