Rebecca is mentioned in the will of her father Jeremiah Reeve as Rebecca Reeve in 1673. In 1677, she and her husband William Burton were involved in a court case concerning her claim to lands mentioned in her father's will. The introduction of the complaint states: "Humbly complaining sheweth unto yor good Lordshipp yor dayly orator and oratrix William Burton of London Marchant and Rebecca his wife daughter of Jeremiah Reeve late of Childerditch in the County of Essex gent deced."

The will of William Burton of Childerditch, dated 19 Sep 1687, probated 14 Nov 1688, mentions among others wife Rebecca, son John, mother-in-law Sarah Reeve, brother-in-law John Reeve "& his wife that now is", and cousin Joseph Clerke.
