Quaker Monthly Meeting records show that Samuel's parents, along with Samuel and his siblings had moved to Ohio by 1805. His family Bible lists the names and birth dates of the children, along Samuel and Anna's marriage date.
In 1850 le was living in Lexington, Ohio, age 50, with Ann (49), Mary (20), Millesant (18), John (16), Jane (14), Mark (12), and Joshua (10). The family was still in Lexington in 1860.
In 1870, Samuel was living in the household of his son John B. Reeve in Jackson, Iowa. In 1880, he was back in Lexington, living with his daughter Mary MGirr's family.
The The Western Friend, a Quaker journal, published the following notice in Feb 1884:
Near Marlboro, Stark County, Ohio, 12th mo. 16, 1883, SAMUEL C. REEVE, in the 81st year of his age.
He was a sincere believer in the ancient doctrine and testimonies of Friends, and an humble follower of the meek and lowly Jesus. His children and relatives have the consoling evidence that his end was peace, and that their loss is his eternal gain.
