There is a William A. Reeve was in the 168th NY Infantry in the Civil War. He was mustered out discharged due to disability from Washington, DC on 10 Aug 1863. His age is given as 44 and birthplace as Wallkill which would put his birth around 1819. Some have identified him as this William A. However, census records indicate this William was born around 1809. It may be that the civil war record was mistaken.In 1855 he is found in the household of Daniel Reeve in Wawayanda, Orange County, age 44. He is identified as a cousin of Daniel Reeve.
