  4. James Reeves
On the 8th of September, 1845, Asa Reeves executed three deeds which appear to function as a will leaving bequests to his children, son James and daughter Eliza, along with son-in-law John Shubert. Theses deeds are recorded at Lauderdale County, Alabama Deed Book 11, p. 458.

An Ace/Asa Reeves was a witness in a deed between Ephraim and Jamima Clanton and Alexander Archer in Kershaw District in 1807.

In 1824, Asa Reaves of Habersham County sold 70 acres in Habersham to Honer Cagle.

Asa Reeves won the land lottery in Habersham Co., GA, 59th drawing, 14 May 1827, for land in Habersham Troup Co., GA. No 76, Dt. 12, Sec. 3. On August 1, Asa Reaves of Habersham County sold 202 1/2 acres in Troup County, Twelfth District, no. 76.

Research Notes

At the time of the 1840 Lauderdale County, Alabama, census, Asa Reeves was enumerated only a few lines from Jesse Reeves, son of Moses Reeves of Lancaster and Kershaw Counties, South Carolina.

There was a different Asa Reeves (born c. 1777, SC, died 1870, Jackson Co., TN) who was enumerated in Jackson Co., TN, in 1850, age 73. He was also enumerated there in 1860 (age 83) and in 1870 (age 94).
