Eliza, the first wife of Caleb died 30 Oct 1852, age 21y 7m 16d and was buried in Fairville Cemetery. They had a son also buried there who died 10 Jan 1852, age 21d.

In 1850, Caleb was living in Arcardia in the household of Harvey Hyde, which would be some of his mother's family.

Caleb's death certificate names his parents as Harmon Reeves and Falura Hyde.

CALEB C. REEVES
Caleb C. Reeves died at 2:30 this morning at his home in Madison, after a long illness from old age and a general breaking down. Deceased was born in Wayne county, New York, 80 years ago last fall, and came to Adrian many years ago, when the old strap rail road was in operation. He conducted a cooper shop in the city for some time, but has owned a farm in Madison for the past thirty years. He was a member of the Free Methodist church near his home. Deceased leaves a wife and one son, the latter being Carleton Reeves, at home. One daughter, Ida Reeves, died on Toledo three years ago. The funeral will be conducted at the Free Methodist church in Madison at 11 a. m., sun time, Thursday forenoon.
