Narrative

The birth of Charles Bertie REEVES was registered during the second quarter of 1896 in South Stoneham Registration District, when his mother's maiden name was recorded as GARRETT. He was the second of two known children born to Edward Israel REEVES and his wife Elizabeth Annie nee GARRETT, who seems to have been known as Annie.

At the time of the 1901 census, he appears as Bertie C Reeves in his parent's home at 10 Harcourt Road, Bitterne (Park), Southampton along with his older brother Edwrad. He is five years old and was born in Southampton.

On the 1911 census Charles B Reeves again appears in his parents household, now living just round the corner at 53 Macnaghten Road, Bitterne Park, Southampton. He is 15 years old and was born in the "Town of Southampton" and is working as an Apprenticed French Polisher for a Furniture Manufacturer.

It is probable that Charles's death is that noted in the GRO Index as Charles Bert (sic) Reeves during the first quarter of 1955 in Southampton Registration District, age 59.
