Narrative
Dayton is mentioned as an heir at law in the division of land by the orphans court of Cumberland County, New Jersey to the heirs of David Reeves. He was of London, Madison County, Ohio in 1829 when he sold his portion of the land.Research Notes
This is probably Dayton Reeves, b. c1800 in NJ, who was living in Dundee, Kane County, Illinois in 1850 with his wife Eleanor (50), and children David D. (22), Christopher (21), George (19), William (17), Matilda (15), Margaret (12), and Benjamin (6). A couple of the children's death records reveal the mother's full name was Eleanor Griffin. More research is needed to determine if this is the same individual.Sources
