Narrative

Edward was born to parents Charles & Lucy Reeves about 1816. (1) He married Desire (or Desiah) Hersey about 1851, who died one month after giving birth, in 1866. He married again 19 November 1868 to widow Sophia Morton (neé Gray). Details of his death are not known, but he is found on the 1881 Census, age 63 in Kempt, Yarmouth county. He is not found on the 1891 Census, and likely died in that area.

He is shown in the 1871 Census working as a Mason, in Kempt Yarmouth county, Nova Scotia. In 1881, he is in the same area, but working as a farmer.

Research Notes

(1) An actual source for his birth has not been found. However, his marriage record to Sophia Morton indicates his parents were Charles & Lucy. Charles & Lucy Reeves are known to have lived and had their family in Dartmouth, Halifax county, NS. They both died in the area. It can be safely assumed Edward was born in Dartmouth along with his other siblings.
