- Damaris Reeves, b. 10 Sep 1792
In Feb 1834, Robert Reeves, William Reeves, Jeremiah P. Reeves and Amos Caines executed a deed to Damaris Reeves of their right and title to a certain tract of land in Bladen County. Thus it appears Damaris Reeves Sutton who was buried in the Reeves Cemetery in Bladen County, North Carolina is a daughter of Edward. The wife of Amos Caines was a Hannah who appears to be a daughter of Edward as well.
A stone was later erected in 1926 for Edward, Jane, and son Evan which state he was born in 1721 and died 1826. It also states "family record lost" which likely indicates the information on the headstone is approximate.
The exact date of death for Edward is found in his obituary, published in the Raleigh Register on 20 Aug 1829:
In Bladen county.....Also in the same neighborhood, on the 3d inst. Mr. Edward Reaves, aged 103 years. He was one of three, living within seven miles of each other, whose aggregate ages amounted to 305 years. The others are still living.
