A grant for 50 acres between Cypress Creek and Colly Swamp in Bladen County was issued to Robert Reeves on 7 Nov 1798 and on 19 Dec 1815 another grant for 100 acres was issued on the north side of Colly Bay.
In 1836, Robert Reeves executed a deed to John M. Reeves, Tolbert Reeves, Henry James Reeves. Although it doesn't say there were his sons, this would appear to make Henry James Reeves another son. Phillip Reeves witnessed.
Research Notes
Son Edward born 1799 was identified based upon information in the book Ancestral Sketches by LeRoy Reeves that identified James T. Reeves, born 1836, of Caldwell, Texas as a grandson of Robert Reeves. Research of James T. Reeves confirmed that his father was Edward Reeves of North Carolina.Robert's birthplace in Virginia and later migration to Bladen County, NC is referenced in The Lone Star State. Further research is required to confirm his exact location and date of birth.
